The following is a list of system extensions that pro Fit 5.0 takes advantage of. It will run without them, but to get most out of pro Fit, we suggest that you install at least “AppleGuide”.
AppleGuide:
pro Fit's on-line help system requires AppleGuide. We strongly recommend that you install it. AppleGuide is standard in System 7.5 or later, but it can also be installed on earlier system versions.
If you have installed AppleGuide, make sure that it is version 1.2.8 or later — version 1.2.5 contains a bug that may cause system crashes. (To determine the version of AppleGuide, open the “Extensions” folder in your “System” folder and select the file “AppleGuide”, then choose “Get Info” from the “File” menu.)
If you don't have AppleGuide, or if you have an old version of AppleGuide, contact your Apple dealer who should be able to provide you with a current version for free or for a small nominal fee.
You can also download AppleGuide from the Internet, e.g. at one of the following sites:
<http://www.macos.apple.com/Apple_Guide/>
<http://www.guideworks.com/AppleGuide.html#AG2.0>
Quickdraw 3D:
Some of pro Fit's external modules for 3D-plotting require the system extension “Quickdraw 3D”. This extension is available for Power Macintosh only. It does not work on 68k Macintosh models.
If you don't have Quickdraw 3D, contact your Apple dealer who should be able to provide you with a current version for free or for a small nominal fee.
You can also download Quickdraw 3D from the Internet, e.g. at the following site:
<http://quickdraw3d.apple.com/>
Quickdraw GX:
pro Fit also supports the new printing features available when Quickdraw GX is installed. Quickdraw GX is an optional part of System 7.5 or later.
The latest versions of Quickdraw GX can be obtained from the Internet, e.g. at:
You can find the following folders in the fully installed package:
• External modules: Some useful plug-ins. To link them to pro Fit, choose "Load Module..." from the Misc menu.
• Examples: Instructive example files and tutorials.
• Functions & Programs: Various programs, functions and AppleScripts.
• pro Fit Modules: Modules and AppleScripts placed in this folder are automatically linked to pro Fit during startup. The installer leaves this folder empty.
• Notes: Useful explanations on advanced topics.
Other important files:
• Addendum: A text file with late information that did not make its way into the official documentation.
• pro Fit Programming, pro Fit Guide: Apple Guide files for on-line help. These files must reside in the same folder as the pro Fit application.
